The Wakefield Way is a
75 mile walking route around the Wakefield Metropolitan District
and offers an introduction to the area's variety of attractive
landscapes and wealth of history.

The Caphouse series of
caches is placed along a section of The Wakefield Way in the
Overton and Middlestown area amongst pleasant rolling rural
landscape which was once scarred by extensive mining activity as
evidenced by the nearby Caphouse and Hope pit museums that form the
National Mining Museum for England.
The paths in this
section of the Wakefield Way are not for the most part suitable for
buggies and wheel chairs and can be quite wet and muddy in places
after rain. There are fields and stiles to cross and some of the
fields have cattle in them that can
be inquisitive.
The cache is a waterproof
matchbox container with log sheet - please bring your own
pen.

It is hoped that other
cachers in and around Wakefield/Leeds area will also join in and
place caches along The Way until we complete the circuit and
encircle The Merrie City in a ring of tupperware.
